Temple Avenue was founded in 2011 by Colin Mekeel, then a high school junior, and his friends who were attending Temple University's prestigious jazz performance program.
Today, Temple Avenue's musicians are seasoned professionals in their late 20s and early 30s, living in the Philadelphia and Lancaster areas.
